HOGHEDGE

THE MINDFUL HEDGEHOG

Hoghedge the Mindful Hedgehog lives a quiet, mindful life, noticing the world around him and moving gently through each day.

When Mouse feels worried and her thoughts become fuzzy and full, Hoghedge shows her how to slow down, breathe and find calm again. Together they explore simple mindful moments through nature and the senses.
From hugging trees and listening to birds, to smelling flowers and blowing out candles.

This gentle rhyming story helps children aged 3–8 learn simple tools to calm busy minds, understand big feelings and feel safe in the present moment.

A soothing story for bedtime, classrooms and quiet moments reminding children that calm is always something they can find, one breath at a time.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

GEORGIE KAY

I’m a yoga teacher, bodyworker and wellbeing practitioner working with children and adults through movement and mindfulness. I write stories that help children notice big emotions and build a kind, curious relationship with themselves and the world around them.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

OLIVIA CHANDLER

I’m an illustrator who believes children should explore freedom in expression, not perfection. With wobbly lines, happy accidents, and mixed mediums, I create art that hums with feeling and invites children (and adults!) to imagine, feel and add their own marks to the story.
